Gov. Hochul proposes additional funds for SBU research
Governor Kathy Hochul has proposed significant investments to enhance Stony Brook University's (SBU) research capabilities. In her State of the State address, she recommended allocating $200 million in capital funding to develop new and renovated research facilities at SBU and the University at Buffalo. Additionally, the proposal includes matching up to $500 million in state funds to support endowments at SBU and three other university centers. These initiatives aim to advance research infrastructure and foster innovation within the State University of New York (SUNY) system.
