Biography
Dr. Anisha R. Kumar received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and medical degree from Stanford University. She completed residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Johns Hopkins University, followed by fellowship training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Mount Sinai. She is double board certified in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Research
Dr. Kumar is Assistant Professor of Surgery at Stony Brook Medicine and faculty in the Division of Otolaryngology. Her research focuses on mitigating algorithmic bias in AI-driven aesthetic facial evaluation and developing fairness frameworks for machine learning models in surgical contexts. She is investigating machine learning applications for optimizing surgical education and training outcomes.
