Biography
Pei Fen Kuan is a Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics. She received her B.Sc. with First Class Honours in Statistics and Applied Mathematics from the National University of Singapore, and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Research
Kuan’s research centers on statistical, computational, and AI-driven approaches to challenges in genome biology. Her lab at Stony Brook utilizes tiling arrays and next-generation sequencing platforms to study biological regulation in cancer, aging, and psychiatric disorders. A key focus of her work is developing and applying statistical and machine learning methods to enhance the analysis, integration, and interpretation of high-throughput omics data.
