The CyberCardia platform can be used to test and validate medical devices faster and at a far lower cost than existing methods. CyberCardia, which is funded through NSF's cyber-physical systems program, can also be used to design optimal, patient-specific device therapies, thereby lowering the risk to the patient.

Alum Bryan Perozzi ’16, now a research scientist at Google, won the Association of Computing Machinery SIGKDD, KDD 2017Doctoral Dissertation award for his work at Stony Brook University. The annual award acknowledges excellent doctoral research in the field of data mining and knowledge discovery.
The Department of Computer Science is pleased to be part of two grants awarded though SUNY's Empire Innovation Program (EIP) to the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences totaling $4.5 million. The grant funding will be used to recruit and retain world-class faculty and researchers who will strengthen Stony Brook’s research productivity in two high economic opportunity areas of state and national significance — artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity.
